Cabo San Lucas
- Mariscos Las Tres Islas is the CSL landmark. Giant oysters, lobster tails, and coconut shrimp that keeps people coming back year after year.
- Mariscos La Palmita is cash only, no menus in English, and packed with locals at lunch. The grilled octopus and whole red snapper are consistently good.
- Las Mariscadas is a step above the typical palapa. Live music, polished service, and elevated plates like grilled pulpo with bone marrow. Host Pancho Pedroza has built something genuinely sentimental here.
- Punta Médano Ceviche & Oyster Bar is the most exciting ceviche concept in CSL right now. Chef Luis Nara blends Mexican tradition with Peruvian and Asian influences. Ask him what came in fresh that morning, sometimes there are off-menu crudos that don’t appear anywhere else.
- Ceviches El Moy is the street-style ceviche tostada spot, full stop. Fish, tuna, octopus, for almost nothing. Open noon to 4pm only. Get there at 12:15pm. By 2:00pm, the best tuna is gone.
- Mariscos El Paceñito sits on the Transpeninsular near El Tezal. The Aguachile Todos Santos is outstanding. The molcajete is a spectacle.
San José del Cabo
- El Toro Güero on Ildefonso Green is the most-reviewed mariscos spot in San José. Loud, lively, family-friendly. The bubbling molcajete with lobster, shrimp, and cheese is the move.
- El Toro Güero San Bernabé is the original location north of town, a more local crowd, slightly more authentic feel. The “El Patrón” dish is legendary. On Sundays after church, expect a wait.
- Kefish is a small seafood market-style spot on Paseo de Malvarrosa. They have an off-menu seafood tower and an incredible zarandeado catch of the day. Go early. Produce runs out fast.
- Ceviches y Aguachiles El Jhony is a tiny stand in the Rosarito neighborhood. Open 12:30–5:30pm only. Short menu, big flavor. Rarely makes it into resort recommendations, and that’s exactly why it’s worth finding.
