Waking up to the sounds of the waves breaking at the nearby Monuments surf break always delights me. Straight to the bathroom for a floss and brush, as I gaze out the window, right there are two whales, looks like mother and calf lolling on the surface. Wow, how blessed am I?! Every day my husband and I thankfully indulge in our great fortune, we live just outside of Cabo on the far tip of Cabo Bay. Life is rich here in Los Cabos, especially during the year when whales are seen daily and repeatedly. Humpbacks, Blue and some Grey Whales frequent the warmer waters of Magdalena Bay, the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, arriving from November and becoming more numerous as the winter months progress onwards. Winter months? But we have sunshine, daytime temperatures from the 70’s to low 90’s. See why so many adventure seekers vacation and live here! Snow Birds love this escape to paradise. International Community

With our melting pot of cultures you won’t feel distant. We live in a wonderful condo community surrounded by people from all over the globe including France, Poland, Germany, Italy, Columbia, Venezuela, Chile, Spain, Canada, Britain, México, Philippines and USA. With our two airports it is so convenient to stay connected and travel back and forth. The sense of a connected community is strong as well, just ask anyone who donates their time with local charities, animal shelters, children’s support groups or has lent a hand in a local beach clean up. The far majority of residents are from somewhere else. The local Mexicans over the age of 25 are most likely from other parts of the country. That makes our local restaurants rich in diversity. Plus it is interesting how friendly people are when they all live in a high quality of life environment. People smile and wave at each other here.

Cost of Living

Keep more and spend less, it’s quite simple. The cost of living can be excellent in the Baja. Don’t get me wrong you can drop some serious millions on a home and eat at internationally acclaimed Michelin Star restaurants if you prefer, but the options for affordable housing, food, health care combined with low personal taxes and low property taxes help you to keep more of your hard earned money. The cost of living has gone down significantly with the big retailers opening like Costco, Walmart, Home Depot and Office Depot. Enjoy a high quality of life with a low cost of living.

Active Lifestyle

With our mountains, deserts, ocean, sea and hundreds of miles of beaches it is a great place to play. Great golf courses, world class sport fishing, cruising, sailing, diving, surfing, hiking, mountain biking, ATV-ing and everything else except winter snow sports is available. With so much great weather you have plenty of reasons to stay active. 

Health

It is no secret that living in a warm desert climate has numerous health benefits. Desert climate has been prescribed for hundreds of years for a wide list of ailments. It used to be only the wealthy that could afford the migration. Today it is available to most everyone with the desire. All of the above top reasons help you where you need it, the most important is your personal health. Sunshine has many health benefits, when you have such an abundance you get maximum benefits. Less stress. The modern world has us in it’s fast paced congested grip, especially in Metro areas. Mexico has a work to live attitude and Los Cabos magnifies this approach to life. Clean air in abundance and great weather gives us all a much more active lifestyle. Avoiding the doctors office is the goal. If you are in need of assistance the level of high quality health care is available. Numerous new hospitals, clinics, therapists, spas, holistic centers and healers are available. Health insurance is high quality and low cost. Dental care is also extremely affordable and in great supply. No wonder so many people vacation here while getting health care.

Living in or visiting a beach front vacation resort destination gives us so many options of what to do, where to stay, play, explore and eat. Time flies when you’re having fun, and it’s certainly endless fun and relaxation here in Los Cabos! A week disappears so quickly, or if you’re retired or lucky enough to spend a few weeks or months here that may not seem long enough either. Our life spans are so short if you look at the big picture. Extracting the MOST of life is what we all strive to do. With all our hard work and dedication to our families and jobs, we deserve to treat ourselves to the very best we can provide. Many of us do that, finding the comfortable and healthy balance can be the most challenging part. Let’s keep rewarding ourselves for all we do, what a better way than to commit to more Cabo time? How about an investment in time and money to ourselves? Book a trip, invest early in a vacation rental property to rent out and use for ourselves. Retirement comes, are we setting ourselves up as we want, can and deserve? 

The best to us all in planning wisely and healthfully. Too much work and stress is bad for our health.
