With 18 total choices and 16 world class courses Los Cabos dominates the world of Golf in Mexico. Voted year after year as one the worlds top golf destinations, this reputation is well deserved. During this Spring lockdown the courses are being revamped and ready for play this summer season. With so little play and plenty of time to maintain, you can rest assured these courses have never looked better. So here we go with our insiders guide to golf Los Cabos.
First up the newest course in Los Cabos is Rancho San Lucas.
The Ranch proudly offers a beachfront course designed by Greg Norman. The 7,210-yard layout is specifically tailored to Cabo’s terrain and locale, creating a sustainable golf experience that flows naturally with the dune and desert landscape. The multi-themed, ‘least-disturbance’ layout spans three different ecosystems and features sweeping ocean views from every hole.
Diamante Dunes- Davis Love III-Private
The Dunes Course has received many accolades since opening in 2009, including being ranked #36 in the world by GOLF Magazine. Eighteen holes sit among some of the most dramatic sand dunes in the world. “You’re either playing toward the ocean, along the ocean or away from the ocean,” says course designer Davis Love III. “And then, at times, you’re down in the dunes and you pop up and are surprised all over again by the incredible views of the ocean.”
Diamante Cardonal- Tiger Woods- Private
In 2014, Diamante opened up Tiger Woods’ first golf course design—El Cardonal—adding to both Diamante’s and Los Cabos’ reputation as a world-class golf destination.
Influenced by the old-style courses of Southern California that he grew up playing, Tiger created a course that brings back the need for strategy—providing players with several shot options to navigate during each hole. The course is long enough to challenge expert players, but open enough to provides options for those with higher handicaps. It truly is a fun test for golfers of all skill levels.
Diamante Oasis Short Course- Tiger Woods- Private
Diamante opened its latest golf creation in December 2016—The Oasis Short Course. This Tiger Woods designed 12-hole par three course features a palapa bar, practice green, event lawn, and a mile long perimeter concrete jogging and hiking trail. In its current configuration, Cabo Real’s front nine, completely refashioned by Jones from a pre-existing layout, provides a scenic, gentle test with broad fairways tumbling down to the Sea of Cortes.
With breathtaking holes chiseled into desert foothills at the foot of rugged mountain peaks, Cabo Real’s longer back nine presents a great test of golf and possibly the toughest nine in Cabo.

Club Campestre
Another Nicklaus Design golf course is Club Campestre, the centerpiece of a 550-acre master-planned community.
The layout’s verdant fairways, chiseled into sloping desert terrain, offer players fine views of the Sea. Vast sandy waste areas, big flashed-face bunkers and sinu-ous arroyos snaking across the fairways call for careful course management. The true character of the golf course lies in Campestre’s undulating, multi-tiered greens, which are among the most liberally contoured putting surfaces in Los Cabos.
Always in top condition, Campestre is a local favorite and represents the best value in Los Cabos.
Vidanta Municipal Nine Hole- this was the very first course in Los Cabos. Located right off Highway 1. This is a good nine hole design and the lowest priced golf in town. Play it twice from different tees to make it a round of 18.
