Hi I am KT Morgan the host of Cabosfinest your insider’s guide to Los Cabos. In todays episode we are taking a legendary road trip up the baja from Los Cabos to Loreto. This drive north is stunning and offers a wide array of views and topography. The final 2 hours are especially inspiring with the Sierra de la Gigantas offering an endless variety of mountain vistas. We pulled into our home rental in plenty of time to get settled, toast to our great day of driving and make plans for dinner. Everyone we meet is so happy and playful. The locals and tourists all blend together and the feel good vibe is everywhere.
On our second day we head north to tour the newest real estate and resort development at Danzante Bay. We met with our old friends Carey and Danea Lowe representing Mantarraya Condomimiums. Loreto is the original Capital of the Californias. Established in 1697 by the Jesuits from Spain with the first successful Mission Loreto. The Capital moved to Monterey in 1777. The Jesuits were not well liked and were replaced by the barely more tolerable Franciscans in 1767. Due to a lack of water at the original Mission Loreto they decided to move upstream to San Javier. We decided to drive the 50 minute mountain road and we were so impressed with the quality of the road and the great day trip up the mountains. The further you climb the more water we found. Around every turn the dramatic mountains reveal themselves with new angles and colors and shadows. Caves and canyons give way to dry creeks that start to show pools of stagnant water. then as you continue the climb the water shows movement and becomes a stream. It is at the top of the range that we see the signs for San Javier and the working Mision and small town. Can you imagine the hardship of living here hundreds of years ago and making this barren desert fertile. Well that is the can do spirit of Mexico that lives on throughout the Baja and all over this wonderful country.
We return to Centro in time to watch the Dia de Muertos celebrations in the town square or zocalo. What a rich tradition of paying respect an homage to those that brought us life. The positive and fun celebration is in no way sad nor depressing. It is respecting the process of life and death and the cycle of beginings and endings.

Entering the aft deck, there are twin stairs on port and starboard leading to a stunning and us- er-friendly swim platform. The aft deck seats 10 people comfortably around a teak table. There is a TV, fridge, basin, and icemaker on the aft deck to enhance your stay. As you enter the open main salon there is a full bar to starboard with three bar stools. There are two comfortable couches and forward of them is the formal dining table for 10 with ample storage for all flat and dinner ware.

Diamante Cabo San Lucas, located 5 miles north of Cabo is the entrance to this 1500-acre development. There are many private golf course developments in Los Cabos from which to choose. What makes Diamante stand out is having two soon-to-be three championship courses. The top-ranked Dunes by Davis Love III, the Cardonal course by Tiger Woods, and the Legacy Course also by Tiger are being built now. It is 8:00 am on October 26th live at the Bay of Saint Luke. We have a record 210 multimillion dollar fishing yachts going for a combined purse of over $11.5 million dollars. These are the worlds best marlin fishermen and women from all over the world here to soak up the sun, enjoy the comrades of fishing in one of the best pelagic fishing grounds in the world.

We have been enjoying this classic sailing yacht for years. We recommend it for those seeking a higher level quality over the other sunset booze cruises. The barefoot sailing experience on this handmade wooden 97 foot long sloop style yacht is among the finest things to do in Cabo. We appreciate the level of attention the crew displays, from the comfortable seating to the attentive, quick service of the happy waiters. The all-inclusive cruise has everything we like without up charging you for decent premium quality beverages. The bar has a wide variety of options including high end Casamigos tequila (yummy) quality wine and beer plus non-adult beverages for those designated drivers.
Upon boarding we enjoy the welcome cocktail as we slowly left the marina. It is always fun to watch all the gorgeous yachts parked along the way as we line up and follow the other booze cruises, pangas and private charters all heading out for the late afternoon sunset cruises. We smiled as we waved at the other more crowded vessels knowing we made the right decision. Sure there are less expensive sunset cruises but we feel it is well worth it plus far less expensive than taking a private charter and it is nice to meet new people. We ended up sitting with a great group of young girls from Florida, a couple from Utah, Honeymooners from Tahoe and some others from Seattle Washington.
The first stop was at Land’s End for the perfect picture taking opportunity. They have an on board professional photographer that will sell you their amazing shots or you can easily take your own selfies. This is a busy stop with all the various boats getting their turn at the Arch then off to the Bay for some fun cruising and more music, drinking and dancing. Yea this is a great time and it never gets old. This evening the light wind makes for gentle cruising and keeps everyone cool.
The crew is busy in the salon prepping the food. First up are the appetizers including a charcuterie platter with a variety of cheeses and tasty cold cuts and then they offered us freshly made bruschetta before dinner. They space out the four courses perfectly.
The guitar player was a delight and played some excellent light jazz and sang as well. He then became the DJ and got the crowd to dance to fun popular music and also took requests. Oakley even learned the Macarena to everyone’s delight. Next came the formal dinner. Surf and Turf is always delightful and they made it perfectly with the filet served medium and the jumbo shrimp were juicy. The maximum capacity is for 40 and our tour was full but we never wanted for anything and we’re impressed by how seamlessly they pulled everything off in the three hours we were aboard. After dinner, we enjoyed a nice desert while we cruised and enjoyed the beautiful shoreline. The three hours went by rather quickly and are thinking we will try their 5 hour luxury snorkel cruise on our next Tu Enamorado cruise. Both are a great bargain at $199 per person.
